2015 NNS - Clinical Survey Component

This component focuses on two common physiologic risk factors to non-communicable diseases (NCDs): elevated blood pressure and obesity; and the modifiable risk factors to NCDs such as smoking, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, and unhealthy diet.

Due to the rising health burden brought about by lifestyle-related diseases, an NCD global monitoring framework was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) which includes nine global targets and 25 indicators expected to be achieved by 2025. The results of this survey will provide data to monitor the Philippines’ progress towards achieving the nine voluntary global NCD targets for 2025 and will serve as baseline data for the Sustainable Development Goals.
