2015 NNS - Socio Economic Survey Component (Household)

The socioeconomic status (SES) component of the 2015 National Nutrition Survey (NNS) contains the variables used to describe the socio-economic and demographic profile of households and its individual members. The individual data of household members include age, sex, civil status, physiological status, educational attainment, occupation and employment status. Data at the household level include the type of residence as well as Wealth Index (WI) as a proxy indicator for income. WI is determined using household assets and housing characteristics to categorize households into wealth quintiles. Households’ living conditions, health and sanitation status were also assessed using the variables on type and tenure of dwelling unit, presence and type of toilet facilities in the household and garbage disposal system.
